2010 Scholarship

Far West Agribusiness Association is now accepting applications for its new 2010 Scholarship. We are pleased to be offering $12,500 to students demonstrating achievement and a high level of desire both in and out of the classroom. Our Scholarship Committee has worked hard to bring you the new scholarship program.

Program Description

The Far West Agribusiness Association scholarship program has been designed to provide outstanding high school and collegiate undergraduate students with a chance to pursue their educational goals in college. There will be two separate selection pools, one for graduating high school seniors and one for current college students. Scholarships are one year in length and will be awarded in $250 increments, not to exceed $1000 per student.


Eligibility Requirements

Any full-time student from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, or Nevada, and is pursuing an undergraduate degree from a college or university in the United States.


Application

An application is available for download below and must be postmarked by June 1, 2010, and each application must include the following:

• Completed Application
• Three Letters of Recommendation from Non-Relatives
(1 academic, 1 supervisor, 1 character reference)
• Copy of Transcripts (official transcripts are required if selected for award)
• Professional Résumé (no more than 2 pages)
• 500-Word Essay focusing on the following topic:

"There are many opportunities, and challenges, ahead for our most important industry…agriculture. Please share with our judges what you plan to achieve, in your working career, to make a difference for farm families of the Inland Northwest and for the agricultural community."
